Disney has a knack for making any character they animate, their own, For instance, Cinderella originally wore three different dresses to three different balls, each more lavish than the next, yet most people will picture only one dress as Cinderella; the Disney animated version. The Disney version is universally recognizable by children and adults alike. Likewise are other Disney characters outfits very recognizable.

From the Disney movie Shrek, the costumes for Shrek and Fiona are available. Usually they come with a mask, however, since the clothing for Shrek is recognizable it may be possible to wear only green coloring on the face.

Disney costumes are quite hot with the adults too; adults who still have an energetic, playful child within them. That is why you can still catch sight of a grown Peter Pan or Donald Duck at a party. At the other end of the spectrum, even babies and toddlers can find fitting Disney costumes. While babies can become cuddly little Winnies, toddlers and older children can easily become Mickey and Minnie. For girls who want to show the world that they’re smart, evil and mean, there’s the Evil Queen costume. Disney costumes can even be worn by an entire group of people. For instance, a group could easily become Snow White and her seven dwarfs.

Boys won’t have quite as large a selection of Disney costumes as the girls but will have plenty to choose from nonetheless. The characters from Toy Story – like Buzz and Woody, or Monsters Inc. – such as Mike or Sully, are quite popular with the boys. Boys might become Mickey Mouse or girls Daisy Duck to assure them that dreams really do come true. These costumes are a walk through the fantasy land that Walt Disney had in mind when he showed the world a whole new way to picture how everything in life doesn’t have to be gloomy.

Snow White and her Prince – Generally accepted as Prince Charming, the actual prince name was never revealed in the movie, his costume of a white shirt and blue tabard will do nicely. Her dress is made available in many styles (including sexy styles).

Cinderella and Prince Charming – There are many retailers which sell both sets of this costume and the prince’s costume is very specific in the movie. More like a military uniform.

Peter Pan and Wendy- A simple blue nightgown will suffice for Wendy. For Peter you can use a green t-shirt and tights (cut the bottom of the t-shirt into ragged ends). To mix it up and be a little funnier costume, you can change roles (girl as Peter, boy as Wendy).

Of course, all girls are dreaming to be a princess even in just one moment in their lives. It is then not that difficult to think that most girls would like to dress like “Belle.” You need to buy a Belle deluxe costume that is exactly the same in the movie. It is an off-the-shoulder gown, glittery over skirt and a cameo.

While Disney has some fantastic costumes for couples, there are even more choices form the animated movies than the main characters. The villains from each of the movies are sometimes more memorable than supporting characters. Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty is a magnificent depiction of a with in her glorious black pointed costume. Ursula from The Little Mermaid is another great costume for women. For men, there is Jaffar from Aladdin and how fun is Prince John from Robin Hood? Support the wearers of the Peter Pan and Wendy costume by dressing up as Captain Hook.

Since so many of these costumes are available in plus sizes, you aren’t limited to the same sex costume style. Boys can easily find female costumes which will fit.
